Fifteen Marion High School students earned spots in the Region 1 All-Region Choir, following auditions October 21 in Jonesboro.
Those students selected to be a part of the SATB choir were Demaury Dent, Floyd Stewart, Frederick Lee, Hannah Watson, Julia Pillaro, Larry Johnson, Luke Caldwell, Madeline Duncan, Michael Whitney, Miguel Cutanda, and Seth Britt. Those selected to perform with the SSAA Choir were Emma Gayle Allison, Mia Ramirez, Kathryn Hood, and Jayla Harris.
“I am very excited about the number of students who auditioned and the number who were selected as members of the choir,” said MHS choir director Lisa Adams. “This is the greatest number of students MHS has had in the All-Region Choir in a long time!”
On Saturday, November 4, the students participated in the All-Region Clinic in Searcy. They enjoyed the day working with guest clinicians and singing with students from around our region. A concert was presented at the conclusion of the day in the Searcy High School performing arts center.
All of the students in the SATB choir are eligible to audition for the All-State Choir. Those auditions will be held in February. If selected for the All-State Choir, they will perform in Hot Springs in mid-February at the state music conference.
