Earlier this week, Ms. Rich's French students (at MHS and MJHS) were learning about the celebration of Carnaval/Mardi Gras in the French-speaking world.
After learning about how people in the French-speaking world celebrate Carnaval/Mardi Gras, the French students got in the festive spirit by decorating and wearing their own colorful masks. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Mr. Johengen's students, at MJHS, were tasked with creating a superhero, or villain that is based on an element on the periodic table. They began by becoming an expert on an element. They then used their knowledge to create super powers based on the properties of the element. They came up with a back story about how their character acquired their powers and what their motivation for being good or evil is. They then brought their character to life by creating an illustration.

Black History Month Shout Out!
MST Greenhouse Guru, Shannon Banks, was recently chosen to attend Black River Technological College in Paragould. Representing Africian American Women of Arkansas, she was chosen to speak to students about her journey and education. She was honored to meet keynote speaker, Ethel Thomas, who was the first African American student to integrate Hoxie Schools in 1955. MSD and MST is so proud to have her as part of our awesome family!

Don't Miss it!

The MSD facilitators provided RTI training to the faculty of MHS. Team work at its best to ensure the best interventions for our students.
