The Marion High School Treble Ensemble earned one superior rating and two excellent ratings recently at the State Choral Performance Assessment in Bryant.
This was the first appearance at the event by an MHS choir since 2018.
“This was a wonderful achievement and a step in the right direction for our choral music program,” said Lisa Adams, MHS choir director.
Members of the ensemble are Mary Pyfer, Angelena Smith, Cathy Pyfer, Christian Coleman, Jerica McClendon, and Demyia Calloway. The accompanist is Anh Nguyen. The ensemble sang “Love In Thy Youth” by Emily Crocker and “Wade In The Water” arranged by Dan Davison.
The singers were also excited to premiere their new choir robes at the assessment. The robes are in the school colors with the Marion logo on them. Both the Mixed Choir and the Treble Ensemble will wear them at upcoming concerts.
