Kinder4

Kindergarten registration for the Marion School District will begin Tuesday, March 9. Any child who will be 5 years old on or before August 1 should register for kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year.

To see the step-by-step registration process, view a list of required documents, and access the online registration form, parents can visit our registration page.

During this process, parents will also be able to choose the Marion magnet school they want their children to attend. Each award-winning magnet school is built around a specialized theme to offer in-depth experiences and studies in specific areas, all woven into the Arkansas state-mandated curriculum. Our magnet schools include Marion Visual & Performing Arts Magnet, Marion Math, Science, & Technology Magnet, and Herbert Carter Global Community Magnet. To learn more about each school, check out this video. Seats are limited, so families are encouraged to make their selections early.

Students living outside the Marion School District are also eligible to enroll, but they must also complete a School Choice application by May 1.

Under its hybrid calendar, the first day of the 2021-22 school year for Marion students will be Monday, July 26. The innovative hybrid calendar enhances learning and knowledge retention by spreading out the school year and incorporating two-week rejuvenation breaks after every nine weeks. The number of days of instruction remains 178.

Families who need assistance with the registration process can visit the Marion School District Annex Building from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours will be available from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, and Thursday, March 11. The Annex is located at 230 Pine Street in Marion.
