The Society of Unity and Love (SOUL) Club which is a high school student organization founded in 2019 at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA). The club aims to provide engagement opportunities to rural school districts via unique educational experiences for students in Arkansas. This year, they want to connect high school students from schools in Arkansas with guest speakers in a range of fields. Guest speakers work to do things such as describe their path to attaining success in their field and answer questions from students and other attendees. S.O.U.L. aims to expose high school students to a broad range of fields and assist in students' identification of possible career paths.

Their upcoming Guest Speaker Q&As will be from Eve Abraha, a current student attending Tufts University. She is a research student who is also centered around equity and inclusion. Currently, she is cooking and distributing meals to those less fortunate in her community at Boston. Here is an article to see the work Eve is currently doing: https://thescopeboston.org/4204/q-a-changemakers/changemaker-eve-abraha-cooks-meals-for-strangers-during-covid-19/.

The Guest Speaker Q&As will take place through Zoom on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from  6:00 pm-7:30 pm CT.

For students to be eligible, they:
Must be enrolled in grades 9-12
Must attend a school located in Arkansas

ASMSA and SOUL would be ecstatic if MSD secondary students would virtually attend this event.  It would be a great opportunity for students to preoccupy themselves during the school year as well as allowing students to explore various career paths and networking opportunities they may be interested in. In this, it would be especially beneficial for students with questions or are looking for students in college.
