College and University Scholarships     These scholarships are offered by the colleges and universities and have different requirements.  Check with the individual colleges or universitites for their applications and requirements.  Some applications are available in the guidance office and many are available on-line at the college websites. Varies according to the university and the particular scholarship.
Wendy's High School Heisman Award This scholarship is available to all males and females who are seniors, have a B grade average, and participate in at least one sport.  To apply go to www.wendysheisman.com.   October 1, 2007
AXA Achievement Scholarship To qualify for this $1000 scholarship, you must demonstrate ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community, and the ability to succeed in college.  For more information and an application, go to www.axa-achievement.com. Coca-Cola Scholarship Applicants for these 250 scholarships will be evaluated on their demonstrated leadership in school, their commitment to the community, their academic achievement, and their part-time employment.  All applications must be submitted online and will need Marion High School's CEEB code, 041-560.  To apply , go to www.coca-colascholars.org.   October 31, 2007
Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarships Applicants must be high school seniors, legal residents, and plan to attend a 4-year accredited college or university.  Applications will be judged on scholarship, leadership (employment and community service, honors and awards, leadership, extracurricular activities, recommendations, completeness and presentation of the brochure, and the essay), and financial need.  Applications can be found online at www.elks.org/enf/scholars.  Completed applications must be turned in or mailed to Jonesboro Elks Lodge No. 498, 2113 W. SunTrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes A $1000 scholarship recepient will be chosen every two weeks from October 31, 2007 through May 15, 2008.  Only one entry per person for each drawing; however, students can register after each drawing for the next scheduled drawing.  Apply online at offtocollege.info. Burger King Scholarships Applicants must be high school seniors who maintain a 2.5 gpa, work part-time an average of 15 hours a week for 40 weeks per year, are actively involved in community service, and demonstrate financial need.  Up to 700 $1000 scholarships are available.  Go to www.bk.com/scholars to apply. UALR Donaghey Scholars Program Scholarship Only 20-25 students are accepted in this highly selective program each year.  The median GPA of Scholars is 3.7 and the median ACT score is 27.  Applications are available in the guidance office. Priority deadline is February 1, final deadline is March 1.
Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program at the University of Memphis The scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship that is awarded to approximately fifty students each year.  Applicants must have a minimum high school gpa of 3.0 or a minimum ACT of 21 and provide documentation of a leadership background.  Interviews will be required.  Applications can be found in the guidance office or online at http://saweb.memphis.edu/leadership/emerging leaders.htm. Ernestine Thomas Clayton Scholarship given by West Memphis Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta The applicant must have a 3.0 gpa, complete the application, have two letters of recommendation, and complete an essay on "If you could have been born in any decade, which one would it be and why?"  Applications are available in the guidance office. November 10, 2007
Gates Millennium Scholars The applicant must be an African American, American Indian, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American, have a cumulative gpa of 3.3, have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular of other activities, and must meet the Pell Grant eligibility criteria.  Applications may be found in guidance or at the website www.gmsp.org. Paper applications must be postmarked by December 31 and online applications must be submitted by January 11.
USDA/1890 National Scholars Program Applicant must have a 3.0 or better gpa, have a 21 or better on the ACT, plan to attend one of the eighteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Institutions (the only one in Arkansas is UAPB), and plan to study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related disciplines.  Applications are available in the guidance office. U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program Thirty $1000 scholarships will be awarded in a random drawing.  Apply online at usbank.com/studentbanking. Program runs from October through February

ASU Technical Center Scholarship The applicant must have a 2.5 overall gpa and a minimum of 19 on the ACT.  He/she should also have a 2.5 in at least two vocational courses.  Applications are available in the guidance office. March 31, 2008
University of Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarship The applicant must be an incoming freshman admitted to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a 3.6 grade point average and an ACT composite score of 24.  Applications are available at www.arkalum.org/scholarships. February 1, 2008
Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship The applicant must be an Arkansas resident, a high school senior, complete the challenge core curriculum, achieve a qualifying ACT and GPA, complete the FAFSA, meet qualifying family income limits, and enroll at an approved Arkansas public or private college, university, technical institute, or nursing school.  Applications are available online beginning February 1 at www.adhe.edu. Arkansas Governor's Scholarship Program/Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholarship Program The applicationn process is the same for both of the scholarships; however, the criteria is different.  To be eligible for the Arkansas Governor's Scholarship, the student must have an ACT of 27 or an SAT of 1220 or a grade point average of 3.5  Only one is given per county.  To be eligible for the Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholarship, the student must have an ACT of 32 or an SAT of 1410 and earn a 3.5 grade point average, or achieve finalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Applications will be available online at www.adhe.edu

AES Scholarship This scholarship is based on grade point average.  Rather it will be based on submitted essays.  These scholarships are intended for future leaders acress a wide field of student and is open to all high school seniors who plan to further their education.  Go to www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm for details.  You do not have to take engineering classes to apply. Toyota Community Scholars The applicant should be a high school senior with outstanding academic credentials and who has demonstrated school leadership and has a commitment to community service.  There can only be one nomination per school; therefore, all completed applications will be evaluated by a scholarship committee to determine a MHS representative.  See the counselors for details. The applicant must major in biology, chemistry, or geology and complete a UALR academic scholarship application and FAFSA.  Entering freshmen must have a 3.0 gpa or rank in the upper 20% of the class and have an ACT score of 24.  Applications are available at www.ualr.edu/sciencescholarship. Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program These $1500 scholarships will be offered to 100 high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in an agriculture-related field.  Applications are available online at www.monsanto.com or www.ffa.org. February 15, 2008

Science Scholarships at University of Arkansas at Little Rock This program is for students who are talented, needy, and interested in a career in biology, chemistry, or geology.  The applicants must have a 3.0 gpa, be ranked in the upper 20% of their class, and have an ACT score of 24.  They must also apply to UALR and apply for the FAFSA so that the financial aid office can determine the level of financial aid needed.  For more information about the scholarship and for information about applying, go to www.ualr.edu/sciencescholarship. Arkansas Governor's Commission on People With Disabilities Scholarship Applicants must complete the application, have a certification of disability  form completed by a health care provider, provide college admittance verification, and provide three letters of recommendation.  Applications are available in guidance. Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program Applicant must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, show leadership ability, be involved in school and community activities, and have high goals and aspirations.  Applications are available in guidance. February 15, 2008

Native American Scholarship Award In order to be eligible for this $500 scholarship award, applicants must be of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe.  The documentation required is a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood card or tribal enrollment documentation.  Applications are available in guidance. Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute Scholarships These tuition scholarships require a 2.0 minimum grade point average, a vocational goal, and financial need.  Applications are available in guidance. April 30, 2008
First Community Bank Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to a Marion High School senior.  Applications are available in guidance. April 1, 2008
Junior Auxiliary of Crittenden County Scholarship This scholarship will be based on GPA, ACT score, and the required essay.  Applications are available in guidance. April 2, 2008
Crittenden County Retired Teachers' Association Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to a Marion High School senior.  Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average.  You do not have to become a teacher to receive this scholarship.  Applications are available in guidance. Crittenden Regional Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Applicants must be planning to enter a medical or health service related field of study.  Applications are available at the Information Desk of the hospital or at the Gift Shop in the hospital. March 25, 2008
AR Post of the Society of American Military Engineers Scholarship The applicant must be accepted by an accredited school or cooperative program in architecture or construction-related engineering programs.  Applications are available in the guidance office. March 31, 2008
AR Manufactured Housing Educational Foundation Scholarship Applicants must be the dependent of a full-time employee of a member of the AR manufactured housing industry or a full or part-time employee of a member of the AR manufactured housing industry.  Applications are available in the guidance office. Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship to the University of Memphis This scholarship will be awarded to a male incoming freshman at the University of Memphis who exemplifies scholarship, athleticism, leadership, and gentlemanliness.  The recipient is in no way obligated to join Sigma Phi Epsilon.  Applications are available in the guidance office. Leadership Scholarship by AR Distributing Company/NAACP Applicants must be a 2008 graduating senior from a Crittenden County High School, have a 2.5 gpa, be involved in service clubs and entracurricular activities, and write an essay on "Preventing Underage Drinking".  Information is available in the guidance office. The Little Theatre of Crittenden County Rockie Smith and Jane Reece Performing Arts Scholarship Applicants  must be graduating in 2008 and qualify by having taken part either on stage or behind the scenes of any stage production or activity sponsored by The Little Theatre of Crittenden County.  Applications are available in the guidance office. Boys and Girls Club of Crittenden County Dearrius Howard Scholarship Applicants must be graduating seniors from any high school in Crittenden County.  Applications are available in the guidance office. May 1, 2008
A. L. and Verneil Reed Scholarship to the University of Arkansas Applicant must plan to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  The applicant should submit an essay to the guidance office concerning his/her future plans and how the scholarship might help achieve those plans.
